Competition Registration Process
Many Competition Organisers have now experienced completing an online registration for their competition. This process has helped DanceSport Australia streamline many areas to help improve the experience for our customers – both the competitors and their supporters.
To help clarify the procedure, here is a guide for Competition Organisers on the registration procedure of a competition.
1. Add your date to the calendar...
The very first step is to notify DanceSport Australia of the name and date of your competition so that it can be added to the DSA website calendar.
When? As early as possible. We are now advertising dates for 2023 so please send us your date now.
How? Email your competition name, venue and date to... events@dancesport.org.au
For more information please check the blog... DanceSport Calendar 2023 Dates
2. Competition Advertising...
Once you have completed your artwork please forward your competition advert so that it can be uploaded onto the DSA website. The earlier the better as this gives your competition more exposure on the website.
For more information please read the blog... Organiser Website Advertising
When? The earlier the better as this gives your competition more website page views. The more page views, the more you can boast to your advertisers.
How? Email your competition advert to the DSA office... events@dancesport.org.au
3. Event Application...
DanceSport Australia competition registration is completed online via your DSA Competition Organiser Portal.
How? Login to your DSA Competition Organiser Portal and select the competition from the calendar list. Then press the Red 'Event Appliacation Required' button. Follow the prompts and upload your event information.
When? You may start the process and save your progress at any time. However, we suggest you finalise and submit your application in a timely fashion to allow Studios, Coaches, Competitors and Supporters plenty of time to prepare and enter your competition, especially if you are expecting interstate or international visitors.
4. Forward your syllabus and competition information...
Once you have submitted your application please forward your competition syllabus and information by email to the DSA Office.
When? Upon submitting your application.
How? Yes you guessed it, email the DSA office... events@dancesport.org.au
Please also email any further information we can use to create a DSA Competition Blog for your competition. For further information regarding DanceSport Australia competition blogs please click here…Competition Blogs and Member Newsletters
5. Application approval process...
Your application will be processed and upon approval, the DSA On-Line Entry System will be setup based on the data contained in the application.
If your application is for a new event, information will be forwarded to your DSA State Branch to be tabled at the next State Board meeting. You will be notified by the State Board of the outcome.
6. Complete system check...
Once events and information is uploaded onto the DSA On-Line Entry System we request you check everything. This is important and includes both the competition information and all the individual events that have been uploaded.
How? Login to your Competition Organiser Portal and navigate to the Competition Control Panel (not the event application form).
Click on Competition Status and check details. In particular check dates, spelling and venue details.
Click on Syllabus and check event names, eligible age groups, eligible grades, dances and the Fee columns.
IMPORTANT: Checking all details carefully at this stage is essential.
If you find any problems please let us know immediately so they can be corrected. Corrections after competitors have commenced placing entries can be problematic and very difficult to fix.
7. Setting the DSA On-Line Entry System OPEN to Competitors...
Upon the Organisers’ confirmation that all details are correct, we then set the DSA On-Line Entry System to OPEN.
Your competition blog will also be activated which we ask you check and if everything is correct, please share on Social Media.
8. Monitor your entries and payments...
We suggest you monitor competitor entries and Entry Fee payments regularly and particularly when entries first open.
In the event you encounter any problems or find missed errors, please contact us immediately so that corrections can be made quickly.
