Calculation of Ranking Points

Rankings are calculated from 'Points' collected when competing in events that have been tagged for Ranking Status. For example an event tagged for 'Adult Open' may contain competitors from Age Groups other than Adult (i.e. Youth or Masters) and these competitors will therefore gain a position within the Adult Rankings.

A further Ranking allocation is given for those couples competing outside their Age Group. For example, a Masters 3 couple competing in a Masters 1 Open event will be allocated 'Points' in the Masters 3 Age Group.

All Rankings are calculated over a 1 year period, this is automatically generated by the Ranking code after Results from a competition is added to the database.

The amount of Points awarded to the couple is based on the number of couples they beat. If you are first and there are 10 couples in your event you will receive 10 Ranking Points.

Formula: ((total in event) - (your Place)) + 1

NOTE: Points are awarded to the COUPLE only, Points cannot be redirected to a new partnership.
