Bring Dance Up! to Your School
There are three steps, and the first one is with the Australian Sports Commission rather than with us.
1. Apply for Sporting Schools funding
Applications are made by the school to the Australian Sports Commission at ausport.gov.au/schools. Funding rounds open each term and close on a fixed date, so check the current round before you plan. When applying for your grant, you can choose DanceSport from the list of partner sports.
2. Book a program and choose DanceSport as your sport
Once your application is approved, book your program through the school portal and select a DanceSport Dance Up! package from the list of available packages.
Only a DanceSport Australia endorsed provider can deliver Dance Up!. You can see who is available in your area on the Find an Endorsed Provider page. If there is no Provider listed near you, contact education@dancesport.org.au and we will help.
3. Booking confirmed by an endorsed provider
Your school submits a booking request, the endorsed provider accepts or declines it within six business days. Once accepted, the Provider will contact you to agree dates, times and the space you will use.
Who will be teaching my students?
Every Trainer delivering Dance Up! must be a current member of DanceSport Australia, hold a current Working with Children Check, and hold Trainer Accreditation appropriate to the age group being taught — Level 1 for Years 5 and 6, Level 2 for Years 7 and 8. Endorsed Providers maintain a Trainer Register with DanceSport Australia and must produce it on request.
Endorsed Providers also hold their own public liability insurance. Schools should confirm the Provider's insurance and any state or territory education department requirements before the first session.
