Bring Dance Up! to Your School
There are four steps, and the first one is with the Australian Sports Commission rather than with us.
1. Apply for Sporting Schools funding
Applications are made by the school to the Australian Sports Commission at ausport.gov.au/schools. Funding rounds open each term and close on a fixed date, so check the current round before you plan.
2. Choose DanceSport as your sport
Once your application is approved, select DanceSport from the list of participating sports. This is the point at which your school enters the Dance Up! Program.
3. Choose an Endorsed Provider
Only a DanceSport Australia Endorsed Provider can deliver Dance Up!. You can see who is available in your area on the Find an Endorsed Provider page. If there is no Provider listed near you, contact the DSA office and we will help.
4. Book through OfficialsHQ
All bookings are managed through OfficialsHQ. Your school submits a booking request and the Endorsed Provider accepts or declines it within six business days. Once accepted, the Provider will contact you to agree dates, times and the space you will use.
Who will be teaching my students?
Every Trainer delivering Dance Up! must be a current member of DanceSport Australia, hold a current Working with Children Check, and hold Trainer Accreditation appropriate to the age group being taught — Level 1 for Years 5 and 6, Level 2 for Years 7 and 8. Endorsed Providers maintain a Trainer Register with DanceSport Australia and must produce it on request.
Endorsed Providers also hold their own public liability insurance. Schools should confirm the Provider's insurance and any state or territory education department requirements before the first session.
