COVID-19 Update - Accreditation Fees Removed Until 1st Nov 2020

Accreditation Fees Removed Until 1st Nov 2020

To assist those Members who are looking to do an Accreditation (or two) during this time of Social Distancing, DSA has waived the Accreditation Application Fee until the 1st November 2020. Accreditation applications from the 1st November will require the usual fees.

To be clear, you do not have to complete the Accreditation process by the 1st November, all you need to do to make use of this offer is to lodge your Accreditation Application before the 1st November 2020.

Applications for Accreditation are done through your Member Account. Login to your Account, click on the  the 'Accreditation' button and select the Accreditation you want to apply for. When you get to the payment section just exit that page, we will take care of the rest in the DSA office.

You should then contact your Coach for instructions and possible on-line lessons so that you can complete your Accreditation.

Guidance Note for Level 1 (Instructor and Competition Adjudicator) Candidates
For students studying for an Accreditation technical exam, use of the ISTD technical publications is the primary source of detailed information. Whilst the data-base of questions for Level 1 is, in the greater part, selected from the “Student / Associate” section of the Questions and Answers books, some questions will also be drawn from the technical notes given at the start of each dance in the ISTD texts. It is important that candidates study the technical notes prior to the charts in these books as part of their preparation.

Several of these technical notes refer to figures in Levels above the Level 1 syllabus; it is not intended to study or understand the details of these figures but to be aware that these figures exist and to have a basic understanding of the differences between these figures and the simpler versions in Level 1 where appropriate (e.g. The Cha Cha Cha Chasse and Alternatives).
