Competitors' Commission - Competition Schedules
'The DanceSport Australia Competitor's Commission serves to support the interests and represent the needs of competitive Ballroom, Latin and New Vogue Dancers of all ages and levels.'
In order to continue to support the interests and represent the needs of our dancers, the Commission is looking to work more closely with our Competition Organisers.
An item that has been discussed at length is the availability of the Proposed Schedule for competitions.
At our last meeting, a recommendation was passed that the proposed running order for a DSA event be released 3 days prior to a competition. With the availability of the programme, dancers and spectators can more readily plan their day, attend specific sections of a competition they are dancing in, or in the case of the spectators, watch and enjoy.
With early competition commencement times, the competitors are looking to get a grasp on exactly what time they will be competing so they may plan their day. In terms of preparation, this includes sleep, food, transportation, the management of energy levels in the case of multiple rounds, but to name a few.
We would like to open this discussion to Competition Organisers and determine whether it is possible for an earlier release of competition schedules. As representatives of our dancers, we feel it imperative that this be communicated to you, the Organisers.
