Writing a good advert

A title people will find

Most people search, so put the words they will search for in your title: who you are looking for, the style, the age group or level, and where.

GoodMale Partner Wanted – Masters 2 Standard & Latin – Geelong VIC
Hard to findLooking for someone special!

What to put in the text

  • Your style(s), grade or level, and age group.
  • Your height (and in heels, if you dance Latin or Standard).
  • Where you are, and how far you can travel to practise.
  • Your studio or coach, and how often you can train.
  • Your goals – social, medal tests, competitions, championships.
  • What you are looking for in a partner.

What to leave out

Keep personal details out of your advert. No phone number, home address, date of birth or social media handles – people contact you through the Send a Message button, and you choose who to reply to.

Formatting is kept simple on purpose: bold, italics, underline, paragraphs and lists. Links, colours and pasted styles are removed when the advert is saved.
