A New Constitution for DanceSport Australia
On 22 April 2026, Members of DanceSport Australia voted in favour of adopting a new Constitution — a very significant development for our organisation.
A Constitution is the bedrock of any organisation. It defines who we are, how we govern ourselves, and the rights and protections every Member can rely on. Getting this right matters, and on behalf of the Board and myself, I would like to thank our Members for supporting it.
The new Constitution delivers stronger governance, greater transparency, and enhanced protections for all Members — while preserving everything of value in our existing framework. It also fulfils a requirement of the Australian Sports Commission for all National Sporting Organisations, strengthening DSA's position to attract increased funding, partnerships, and opportunities for our Members into the future.
When DSA's Founding Members established this organisation 27 years ago, one of their key ambitions was to achieve recognition as a National Sporting Organisation. Yesterday's vote honours that vision and sets us up well as we go forward.
