Victorian Governor’s Performance Series
Her Excellency the Honourable Linda Dessau AC, Governor of Victoria and Mr Anthony Howard AM QC opened Government House for an afternoon of dance on 31st October 2019.
DanceSport Victoria was thrilled to be invited to perform as part of the Governor's Performance Series. Three hundred and fifty people attended the stunning ballroom at Government House. (See photos below)
The performance was choreographed with a continuous display of Standard, New Vogue and Latin by Jason Beaman and Brent Olifent.
It included dancers from all age ranges; Juveniles through to Masters who demonstrated the versatility and health benefits of ballroom dancing.
Here is an extract from Patrick Rundle, the Governor’s Aide:
“A note to thank you for the incredible amount of work which you all put into preparing for the wonderful ballroom dancing display last Friday.
It was a true highlight for me and the entire team at Government House. I know that the Governor and Mr Howard thoroughly enjoyed themselves as did all of our guests who came to watch the display.”
Participants also enjoyed light refreshments after the performance and the opportunity to tour the State Apartments of Government House.
DanceSport Victoria would like to thank the dancers who participated in this performance:
Special thanks must also go to Erin Aspinall for preparing the music for us and for Shane Hocking and Kym Smith for the use of their studio free of charge for the rehearsal.
