Notice is hereby given of the 2026 State General Meeting of each State of DanceSport Australia Limited.
This year every State Committee position is up for election.
Under the new DSA Constitution, State Boards are now State Committees. All current members stand down in 2026 and a full election will be held in each State. |
✓ One category – no more Coach, Competitor and General positions; everyone is a State Committee Member.
✓ Up to 9 members per State Committee.
✓ Staggered terms – of those elected in 2026, about half serve two years and half serve one year (decided by votes received, by lot or by Committee ballot). From 2027, elections are held every year.
✓ Maximum 10 consecutive years on a Committee.

Who can vote and nominate

All financial members and life members of DSA in your State. Voting is by secret ballot, first past the post. To stand, you must be a financial or life member in good standing with DSA.
✓ Nominate yourself – no seconder needed. Email your Nomination Form to your State Returning Officer.
✓ Nominations close three weeks before your State General Meeting so candidates can be listed in the meeting notice (check your State below).
✓ The Consent to Act and Code of Conduct Acknowledgement confirms your eligibility and is required before an elected member can take office.
Complete a Proxy Form to give your vote to a member who will be there. Proxies must reach your State Executive Officer 48 hours before the meeting.
