East Coast Classic National DanceSport Championship Returns to its Iconic Home - Sydney Town Hall!

The Australian Dancing Society Ltd. is thrilled to announce the much-awaited return of the East Coast Classic National DanceSport Championship to its former home, the historic & iconic Sydney Town Hall. The event is set to take place on Sunday, 29th October 2023. Dancing enthusiasts from all corners of the nation are invited to partake in this spectacular celebration of dance.

A Triumphant Return to Sydney Town Hall:

The East Coast Classic National DanceSport Championship holds a special place in the hearts of many dancers and spectators alike. With its rich history and dazzling ambiance, Sydney Town Hall served as the event's iconic venue for numerous years.

Peter & Debbie Todd first took the event to the Sydney Town Hall in 1994 and organised the event until 2007, missing only 2001 for the Gay Games where the event took place at Hordern Pavillion for one year. Peter Todd then organised the event on his own from 2008 to 2010.

From 2011 Barry & Shirley Wall took the lead and ran the event at the Town Hall as a 2 day event. The event due to rising costs moved around to venues such as Paddington Town Hall, Park Royal Parramatta (2013/2014), Blacktown Civic Centre, Rosehill Race Course (2009) and then at Bowman Ballroom in Blacktown (2015/2016/2017/2018).

From 2019 up until 2022 the event was run by The Australian Dancing Society Ltd’s president, Melinda Hayes. In 2023 Adam Blakey, Lecia Putland & Stefano Olivieri are teaming together to run this prestigious event.

A Dance Extravaganza:

The Championship will kick off bright and early at 8:30 am on Sunday, 29th October 2023, with doors opening at 8am.
