DSNSW Workshop Series - Laurence Moldavsky
Our first Latin presenter for this Sunday is Laurence Moldavsky. Enjoy a little glimpse into Laurence's dancing journey below...
Laurence started dancing at the age of 6 at a local studio in Sydney. Under the guidance and mentorship of Adele Hyland and Tony Gauci, Laurence was the Australian Junior Latin Champion, multiple time Australian Youth Latin Champion, bronze medallist in the US National Under 21 Open Latin championships and winner of Season 3 of Strictly Dancing on ABC. He was a multiple time NSW Adult Latin champion, regular finalist of all major national championships and was the highest ranking DanceSport Australia Adult Latin Competitor in Latin American.
In 2012, Laurence moved to New York to further develop his dance career. In the US, Laurence worked with some of the world’s most renowned coaches and Latin dance icons. He was selected to represent Australia in the World Games in Cali and represented Australia at multiple world championships throughout his career. Amongst his many achievements, he was an 8th place getter in the WDSF Asian Pacific Latin, bronze medallist in the Australian Open Latin and was a US Open Latin finalist.
Today, Laurence is a well-respected coach, adjudicator and ProAm competitor. Having trained and partnered ProAm British Champions, ProAm British Finalists and multiple time Australian ProAm champions; Laurence is focussed on guiding the next generation of dancers to achieve their dreams.
