Appel Appel is a firm step used to commence a number of figures where a close hold is not
maintained. Danced on either foot, it is a step in place with a strong lowering action and
flat foot. When commenced in Closed Position as preparation for a step in Promenade
Position, it is taken back with a slight body turn to left for Man and right for Lady.

Slip Appel Man dances the Appel with his RF slightly back, Lady with LF slightly forward. Found at
step 1 of Open Telemark and Fallaway Reverse.
