Juvenile Dress Regulations
DSA Juvenile Dress Rule Reminder
All DanceSport competitors under the age of 13 competing in competitions must comply with dress regulations in the “Juvenile – Dress Restrictions” policy set out by DanceSport Australia.
Competitors who breach any aspect of these rules risk disqualification from their event.
Key Reminders
- NO artificial eyelashes OR artificial finger nails are to be worn.
- Artificial tanning products may be used to achieve a NATURAL looking tan.
- Only SMALL flowers of the same colour as the dress can be worn in the hair. Tiaras, headbands, diamanté of any description, clips or combs are NOT allowed.
- SMALL plain earrings may be worn but must not be decorated in any way.
- Dresses MUST be the same colour and the skirt must NOT exceed two circles. It must NOT be decorated in part lace panels, motifs, bows, ribbons, gloves, fringe, feathers or buttons.
- Note that Metallic materials are NOT allowed, along with materials using Metallic thread or lurex, or sequinned fabric.
- Crinoline or wire is permitted INSIDE of the hem of the TOP skirt only.
- Length of Standard / New Vogue skirts/dresses to be approx. 5cm below the knee, and Latin American skirts/dresses must be no higher than 5cm above the knee, and MUST be the same length all around.
- Shoes should NOT have light effects e.g. no glitter or rhinestones.
- Boys’ pants to be Black only; white or black shirts may be worn.
