The Step Up in school dance program had a successful launch with the support of ACHPER NSW at their recent ‘So you think you can’t dance’ workshop held at the Catholic Club, Liverpool on Friday 5th September. The launch was greeted with an overwhelming positive response from attendees. The new president of ACHPER NSW, Meg Pickup, spoke about the development of the program and the need for support for PDH&PE teachers that are involved with social dance at all levels of education. The program has been developed as an in school program which aims to train and mentor PDH&PE teachers in the delivery of social dance with the provision of an outstanding resource; supported by a state of the art website, teacher training, and visual media. |
